• Asphalt Plant Types and Applications

Asphalt plants are employed to manufacture materials for use in several applications. These materials needs to be kept pliable for proper application and therefore an asphalt plant needs to be located near the worksite.

    Types of Asphalt Plants

Two basic types of asphalt plants are employed within the manufacture of asphalt:

1.Batch Plants – These plants manufacture batches of asphalt as required all set instantly to work sites.

2.Drum Plants – These plants make use of a continuous process to produce asphalt which may be kept in heated storage silos for a few days.

Both kinds of asphalt plants have common components which include:

-Cold feed-bins that accurately study the several types of aggregates to be utilized in the mix to the drying drum.

-Storage tanks with stringent regulations for spill prevention.

-Dryer drum to heat and dry the aggregates. These are typically either parallel-flow drums that move the aggregates inside the same direction as being the hot air, or counter-flow drums that move aggregates within the opposite direction towards the heat.

    -Storage silos that are heated.

The Visible Difference between Bath Plants and Drum Plants

    Batch Plant

In a asphalt batch plant, the aggregate is dried and heated prior to being transported to the batch tower where it is actually separated by size using screens and after that kept in hot bins. Each aggregate amount is accurately proportioned by weighing in a aggregate weigh hopper before being dropped in to a pug mill and blended with an asphalt binder. The amount added is measured by way of a weigh bucket, or by using a pump-and-meter system. The mix will be either saved in a silo or dropped right into a truck for transport to the work site.

    Drum Plant

After drying and heating the aggregate and asphalt are mixed together within the drum plant and asphalt is produced  continuously and may be held in silos at the work site.

    Applications

-Portable asphalt plants to be used in ports.

-Asphalt drum mix plants for road construction and civil engineering construction could be delivered to the worksite to find the best results.

-Bitumen plants for city roads and several different applications including the construction of pavements. It offers incredible productivity at about 150 a great deal of bitumen an hour. Also, they are ideal for laying air strips and for other bitumen based applications.

    - Asphalt drum plants for dams are particularly functional due to their portable characteristics.

-Asphalt drum plant equipment that continuously produces asphalt mixtures are perfect for the construction and maintenance of airports and train stations.

-Mobile asphalt plants are perfect for car park construction because they are easy to put together and operate.

-Asphalt mixing stations can produce efficient asphalt mixes for use in the building of bridges and highways.

-Mobile asphalt plants are ideal for parking lot construction because they are easy to create and operate. View more here.

Asphalt plants are fully equipped with processing capabilities to produce the right asphalt mixes to use in many different construction projects. Both batch and drum types are incredibly easy to operate and is constructed from high abrasion resistant and corrosion resistant materials. They have a regular asphalt mixture production with low energy consumption.
